Natural Hair Conditioner

Here's how to add softness and shine to your hair without using proprietary conditioner. This is much cheaper and completely additive-free. Simply stir a spoonful of honey into three or four cups of warm water. Once the honey is thoroughly mixed, pour the mixture over wet, freshly washed hair. Gently wring excessive moisture from your hair, but do not rinse the mixture out. Use a towel to lightly pat hair dry and then style as normal.

Natural Way To Lighten Blonde Hair

If you have blonde hair and want to lighten it or brighten it up, try these tips. They are much better for the environment than chemical-laden shop-bought products in plastic bottles. They save money too.

Tip One: Go a shade more blonde by using the juice of one lemon, brushing it into your hair and letting it dry in the sun. You can use this method for blonde streaks too.

Tip Two: Keep your hair blonde by brewing two camomile tea teabags or use two tablespoons of camomile tea, strain and add it to your final rinse. Don't expect to see an immediate difference. It will take a few rinses before you notice.

Adopting a green beauty regime can help reduce your environmental footprint while maintaining your skincare and beauty routines. Choose natural and organic products and avoid harmful chemicals like parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances.

Good Reasons To Make Your Own Hair Conditioner

There was a time when I used hair conditioner without giving a thought to what was in it - or the container it was in. Then when I read about the dire effect that plastic was having on the world's seas and wildlife I immediately decided never to buy hair products in plastic bottles again.

Reading what is actually in most conditioners also concentrated my mind. I no longer wanted to put chemicals like propylene glycol, momoethanolamine, formaldehyde or methylisothiazoline on my head.

I could live without conditioner but I did miss its softening effects. Then I read about the extremely simple homemade version. You can add softness and shine by dissolving a spoonful of honey into three or four cups of warm water. Once the honey is thoroughly mixed, pour the mixture over wet, freshly washed hair. Don't rinse it out but gently wring out the excessive moisture. It really works!
