There was a time when I used hair
conditioner without giving a thought to what was in it - or the container it
was in. Then when I read about the dire effect that plastic was having on the
world's seas and wildlife I immediately decided never to buy hair products in
plastic bottles again.
Reading what is actually in most conditioners
also concentrated my mind. I no longer wanted to put chemicals like propylene
glycol, momoethanolamine, formaldehyde or methylisothiazoline on my head.
I could live without conditioner but I did miss its softening effects. Then I
read about the extremely simple homemade version. You can
add softness and shine by dissolving a spoonful of honey into three or four
cups of warm water. Once the honey is thoroughly mixed, pour the mixture over
wet, freshly washed hair. Don't rinse it out but gently wring out the excessive
moisture. It really works!
The eco-friendly life. You don’t have to be perfect but if everyone did what they could, what a different world it would be.
